about

This is something I’ve been working on for quite a while. It's a piano interpretation of one of my favorite albums, “Is This It” by The Strokes.

This isn’t a “big" release or a “big" record. But, my hope is that people can get something valuable out of it…some inner peace, nostalgia, inspiration, or simply feeling something deeper.

When the original album came out in 2001, it had a profound impact on me. It really got me through some shit as a New York City college student. The pure musicality of the album has always interested me.

I recorded this up at Great North over several weeks using three different pianos and a tape delay machine. @dietrichstrause helped me in the studio and @djamesgoodwin mastered it for me. Thanks to all my friends + Darius for telling me I should actually go through with it.

Hope you like it! - Sam
